Synopsis: Bartimaeus, now a well-traveled grandparent, opens the door of his NYC brownstone to find Julienne, a girl he once fostered, soaked with rain and tears and wearing a wedding dress. He takes her in once again and she pours out her tale to him. He agrees to help her, but this means he has to face an entire sharp-dressed, silver-tongued entourage himself. Bartimaeus finds his own life balanced on a knife’s edge in the confrontation with Julienne’s powerful and dangerous fiancé.
